Carbide Spaces
Calls and a shared workspace on the same screen.
Sometimes a conversation needs something to look at together: notes, a plan, a sketch. Carbide Spaces put that next to the call instead of in another tab.
Most of the design work was about space on a phone. Faces and controls fill the screen quickly and leave little room for the thing you’re working on. We tried layouts that kept the people visible while giving the shared work most of the screen. An invited AI agent could add to it too, limited to the access it was given.
I explored it and moved on. The image below is a design concept, not a released screen. The call code built for Spaces later became the start of Chillin.
